Trail Description
PR 7 Levada do Moinho explores the Porto Moniz and Calheta border area from near Ribeira da Cruz, following a levada once associated with local water mills. The trail combines irrigation history, rural terraces, valley views, mossy rock walls and the remains of old mills such as Achadas and Cancelas. It is a longer levada walk with sections that can be narrow or slippery, especially near water and shaded gorge areas. The appeal is its mix of heritage, woodland and quieter north-west Madeira scenery.
