Trail Description
PR 6.4 Levada Velha do Rabacal follows an older levada into the Rabacal valley from the Pico Gordo area. The route is valued for its quieter atmosphere, historic water-channel engineering, rocky slopes, laurel forest pockets and tunnel features such as Furado Velho. It offers a more technical and less crowded alternative to the best-known Rabacal walks while still connecting with the Casa do Rabacal area. Sturdy footwear and care are important on narrow, damp or exposed sections.
