Trail Description
PR 28 Levada da Rocha Vermelha branches from the Fanal and PR 13 area into the deep green Rocha Vermelha valley. The route follows an old levada system with steep stairways, flowing water, rock-cut sections, tunnels, waterfalls and views into the Rabacal landscape. It is less crowded than the headline Rabacal walks, but also more technical and sometimes exposed. Hikers should bring a headlamp, wear sturdy footwear and take care on narrow, wet or uneven sections.
