Trail Description
PR 18 Levada do Rei starts near the Quebradas water treatment station in Sao Jorge and follows a peaceful levada toward Ribeiro Bonito. The route begins with views of rural Sao Jorge and Santana before entering rich Laurissilva forest, vegetation tunnels, mossy walls, small waterfalls and abundant water. Its moderate profile, intense greenery and photogenic forest atmosphere make it one of the north coast's most appealing levada walks. It suits a wide range of hikers when conditions are dry and stable.
