Trail Description
PR 11 Vereda dos Balcoes is a short and easy walk from Ribeiro Frio along Levada da Serra do Faial to the Balcoes viewpoint. The path passes shaded Laurissilva vegetation and endemic plant species before opening to a balcony-like view over Ribeira da Metade, Pico Ruivo, Pico do Areeiro and the central mountains. Its accessible distance, forest setting and big viewpoint payoff make it one of Madeira's best introductory walks, especially for families or visitors with limited time.
